Department of Functional Biosciences

Department of Functional Biosciences is composed of two sections, that is, Section of Biochemistry, and Section of Infection Biology. The former is mainly in charge of lectures and experimental courses in “Chemistry” and “Biochemistry”, and the latter is responsible for those in “Microbiology” and “Immunity”. The two sections also share the responsibility for a lecture course of “Cellular Chemistry”. For research activities, we are investigating various cellular processes in organisms from bacteria, fungi to mammals at a molecular level. For details, see the description of each section.
